Monetary anarchy runs amok

ECB risks devestation of economy

'Monetary anarchy runs amok'
The ECB gives again more than 500 bio Euros to the banks, with the second 3-year tender (teaser). This 'easy come easy go' calls in more and more critics who warn ahead of a possible explosion of the system and devestated (national) economies. The ECB isn't alone with its liquidity flood and as of such the federal banks could become part of the problem soon.

The ECB and other federal banks opened their money locks wide, to help the banks across the crisis. Critics say too wide. They fear that the liquidity flood could leave behind traces like a tsunami in forms of devestation in the real sector. The real sector is the sector that opposes the financial sector in macroeconomics.

The flood of cheap central bank money rushes around the globe into profit-rich investments and blows up huge bubbles, whose explosion could enact the next global meltdown. "Monetary anarchy runs amok here" says Bob Janjuah, who is responsible for tactical investment decision at Japanese broker Nomura.

REDUCED AID SCENARIOS

The ECB provided 530bio Euros with its second teaser at an annual payback rate of ridiculous 1%. So if you borrow 1bio you pay a rate of 10 million a year. The first teaser contained 500bio € . The national bankers in the UK and Japan pumped as well huge sums into the economy and the FED determined itself to an absolute low rate even till 2014. The balance sheets of all those national banks doubled since 2007. This year they will ALL grow to the size of 1/4 of the respective national economies according to JP Morgan.

Nogura-macro economist Janjuah makes exactly this increase in money available responsible for bubbles in all kind of investments. "If -or better: as soon as - this cycle implodes, the national banks will be part of the problem, because they wont be a credible saviour in emergency then anymore." Janjuah is thus determined to wait with certain investments till the national bank bubble exploded. "The binding (stretch) between the real sector and liquidity driven markets is already on total overreach."

Many financial professionals have thus an unsure feeling, because the current situation reminds them of former bubbles. Oversized liquidity injections drove the oil price up and govts of barrier countries (id est on the border to an 1 world country) into desperation in 2011 already because the influx of money out of speculation drove the worth of the currencies up and thus damaged the exports, id est the ability to compete. Many economists see the FED as the mother of all bubbles for its lulling financial policies in the past decade - the explosion of the FED bubble caused the housing market to crash and led the global economy close to breakdown.

The power up of the bill printers provides some throttle for the economy at the start, but deflagration occurs shortly after. Consumption was already last year siffled by a mounting oil price and rising food prices drove inflation up as well.
National banks of countries on the verge of becoming a first world country had to rise their rates thus.

Stocks shot up between oct 2010 and april 2011 globally around 16% -only to crumble till sep for 26%.

Since then, stocks gained 25%. Many investors trace it back to the double teaser of the ECB. Many experts got a deja-vu experience thus. They only wait for the big bang.
Fidel and Raul Castro's older sister dies

Havana (CNN) -- Angelita Castro, the older sister to Cuban presidents Fidel and Raul Castro, died in Havana on Tuesday, her sister Juanita Castro said. She was 88.

Juanita Castro told CNN her sister had suffered from Alzheimer's disease and died surrounded by her family.

"She was a dedicated and loving mother; her family took very good care of her after she became ill," she said.

Juanita Castro told CNN she had not seen her sister since leaving the island in 1964 and becoming a critic of the Cuban revolution.

Angelita's Castro's death was not reported on Cuba's state-run media.

Newtie and the cross

by digby

This is creepy:

It was through the Pastors’ Policy Briefings that Gingrich—whose campaign declined to comment for this story—reportedly hit on the idea of launching a group called Renewing American Leadership, which he did in 2008. David Barton was among the founding board members. California pastor Jim Garlow, who helped organize the campaign to repeal California’s gay-marriage law and has likened the gay rights movement to an “antichrist spirit,” was later named president. At the time, the Tea Party had just exploded on the scene, and the group’s stated goal was to bring religious and fiscal conservatives together, in part by making a biblical case for conservative economic policies. This has indeed been part of the program. According to a report from the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way, just after the 2010 elections, Barton, Gingrich and Garlow hosted a conference call for pastors to celebrate Republican gains in the House and make the case that progressive taxation, deficit spending and the minimum wage ran counter to biblical teachings.

But(...) the New Apostolic movement. “It sounds to me like radical Islam.”

Obviously these Dominionists are either dumb or they are hypocrites, maybe both. Gingrich? I wonder how much money he got out of them.

I'm being facetious, but the truth is that this movement merits keeping an eye on. True, they backed the wrong horse this time --- should have gone with Santorum. But there are more of them than we think and they are very influential at the state level. Rick Perry is one of their major pets. And look at what Texas has accomplished.

Ex-German president: Mother in law (?!) paid for vacation

Wulff's account was 10000 euros in the red shortly after the Sylt vaccation according to the state attorney.

video:constitutional law expert von Armin rips Wulff's behaviour

LINK ARTICLE 7-feb:BREAKING: WHO PAID FOR WULFF'S SYLT VACATION

Christian Wulff stayed from 31st oct 07 till 3rd nov 07 with his current wife Bettina in the reknown hotel "hotel Stadt Hamburg" on Sylt. The price was 258 euros per night including breakfast in suite 258 for the former prime of lower Saxony.

The movie producer Groenewold (38) from Berlin stayed at the same time in the deluxe hotel. He was a close friend of Wulff. It's exactly this movie financer who already paid an upgrade to suite for Wulff in "Bavarian ranch-Bayerischen Hof" in Munich.

According to Bild information Groenewold booked his Sylt stay and the one of Wulff at the vip-service of airtours and he paid with his platinum american express card when starting the journey. The Wulff-intimate is now under suspicion of having tried to cover (cloak) the process.

Groenewold called „Hotel Stadt Hamburg“ 3 weeks ago on the 16th jan 2012. The note -which is available to BILD - reads: "according telephone 16th jan make no data relating to Groenewold available!!! (was here 2007 with Mr Wulff & paid for the stay.)"

the hotel created an internal task list -available to BILD - on the 17th which reads:"mr groenewold called yesterday we are restricted from making information available about him. He was here in 2007 with Mr Wulff in hotel city of Hamburg an he paid for the entire stay. So if Bild or Spiegel call, we dunno a thing."

at the same time -jan19- the opposition in lower Saxony's parliament showed a certain interest for the relation between wulff and groenewold. the social dem faction head stefan schostok asked (in an official question): "With how much money were movie projects supported by the state of lower Saxony in which mr Groenewold participated?"

The social dems wanted - like with the house loan from Wulff friend Geerkens - to know whether there was a business relation between the Wulff-govt. and Wulff's friend Groenewold.

Exactly on this 19th jan movie producer Groenewold drove again to Sylt (coincidentally?!!!) and he booked himself into "hotel city of Hamburg" again.

he demanded to hand out relevant bills on the morning of jan 20 which rooted from the short trip with the Wulff couple from 2007. A manager handed out arrival lists, state report list and dinner bills.

Romney Flips On His Own Tax Plan, Admits He’d Give Huge Tax Break To Top 1 Percent

Romney Was Audit Chairman At Company That Abused Tax Shelters

falo posted from ThinkProgress Economy on Feb 22, 2012 at 8:35 pm

2012 GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has already run into some trouble on the topic of tax havens. The company that he ran — Bain Capital — not only abused tax havens while he was at the helm, but Romney also saw his lucrative Bain retirement package boosted by the company’s use of offshore tax sheltering. Romney also had a Swiss bank account until 2010, which his money manager only closed because such an account would look bad politically.

Adding another twist to the tale today, Bloomberg News reported that, while Romney was the head of its audit committee in the 90s, the hotel chain Marriott abused tax shelters, prompting multiple run-ins with the IRS:

During Romney’s tenure as a Marriott director, the company repeatedly utilized complex tax-avoidance maneuvers, prompting at least two tangles with the Internal Revenue Service, records show. In 1994, while he headed the audit committee, Marriott used a tax shelter known to attorneys by its nickname: “Son of BOSS.”

A federal appeals court invalidated the maneuver in a 2009 ruling, siding with the U.S. Department of Justice, which called Marriott’s transaction and attempted tax benefits “fictitious,” “artificial,” “spectral,” an “illusion” and a “scheme.”

Microsoft Files Complaint with the European Commission Against Motorola

Well, as a long term Amiga user, Im obviously supportive of a 68000 as well as of Google, because I blog. RIP Jay Miner.BTW; Gates is now in multitasking as well; he devloped a Media player plugin for FIREFOX.

well if you got a 4 core its obvious that you can have an instruction run through at the same time up to 4 times. SO if you scan for a frequency for example, you may have the same kind of instruction needed to be processed immediately, because its all the time for the same purpose.
Well, all you need then is obviously multitasking software.
I mean if Gates didnt do his homework and didnt develop multitasking software, thats not my problem. All you need is a juggler. The point was originally that you put one task on hold till 1 processor is free. Now you got 4 processors at hand and its way cooler. Shortly, Gates process handler sucks completly.

Then again, thats not the problem of Motorola. They produce hardware, not software. They are not liable for the ineptitude of Mr Gates.

So, I mean, they may try to get their share because they had multitasking in85 on an Amiga and not in 95. And, of course you may dislike thrash in stores like a X-BOX.

OK, because Im anyway nerved by the entire discussion and the idea that Bill Gates becomes the defender of free streaming video, I need to explain things further.

In 1985 the Amiga came out. It contained a blitter and a copper. A blitter can move bit blocks id est bitmaps pretty fast. A copper can generate lines and so on very fast. Now the revolutionary thing about the amiga was that it contained specialized co-processors that could execute certain tasks up to 1mio times faster than normal machines back then. That was especially valid for BLITTER AND COPPER.

Now, what you saw in former times were mostly sprites. Its easy to generate sprites with an amiga . But if you want to move small pictures, then again, you need a blitter.

Now, I once bought a terminator beast and I looked it up in the Internet and I found that it was Hercules. Well, PC gfx in 85 was simply Hercules and Bill Gates didnt change it. It took him 8 years at best. Amiga had up to 1280* 1024 dots whereas it mostly ended at 320*200 for the PCs not to mention 4 colours maximum in comparison to 16.8 mio at low resolution for an amiga.

There were several breathtaking gfx modes for pcs. Monochrome, Hercules, CGA, EGA,
Msth and VGA. Now, all is boring till EGA (16 colors, 640*480).
Then Bill Gates started to photocopy certain things on a brown Xerox. The first result was Msth. But things werent brown enough yet. I guess he spread sth on the Xerox, anyway, the final result was called VGA.

The next thing that happened was a special gfx bus. This was also breathtaking.
The first thing there was was an IDE bus. Then there was a VESA bus (ISA), finally sth called PCI. (look up Cirrus logic cl-gd5430)

Anyway, the point Im trying to make is that when they finally made it possible to have gfx run on a slot for a plotter, they cracked it open.

The result was called AGP (Advanced gfx port).

Entertaining is FIC a70L.

Then they (Bill Gates I guess) made the decision to have the crack closed again and we now have some mega-plotter non-agp port (whatever that is) it's mostly called PCI-X or sth.

Now, this disaster isnt very coherent. Its especially bad for a JUGGLER. There are millions of ways to address a video card.

Its slow, complex, lame, whatever you wanna call it.

So, I DO NOT THINK Bill Gates ever intended to support free streaming video. This man is a cheat, a liar and a hypocrite.
Especially, you dont file an anti trust lawsuit if the entire globe uses your begotten operating system COINCIDENTALLY.

Today, Microsoft announced that it filed a formal complaint with the European Commission against Motorola Mobility (and Google, who is in the process of purchasing Motorola), so as to prevent the vendor from blocking sales of Windows PCs, Xbox game console and other products.

Apparently, Motorola is unhappy with the fact that these devices provide users with the possibility to view videos on the Web or to wirelessly connect to the Internet using industry standards.

“You probably take for granted that you can view videos on your smartphone, tablet, PC, or DVD/Blu-ray player and connect to the Internet without being tied to a cable,” Dave Heiner, vice president and deputy general counsel, corporate standards and antitrust group, Microsoft, notes.

German presidency row shakes Merkel's coalition

news.yahoo

BERLIN (Reuters) - Angela Merkel's conservatives accused their coalition partner on Monday of a "massive breach of trust" in backing opposition candidate Joachim Gauck for the German presidency, a move which forced the chancellor to support him despite deep reservations.

Germany's Bild newspaper said Merkel's centre-right government had even come close to collapsing during tense negotiations on Sunday evening between her and Free Democrat (FDP) leader Philipp Roesler over who should fill the largely ceremonial post.

According to the paper, Merkel warned Roesler that he was putting the coalition at risk by backing Gauck, a former rights activist in East Germany whose candidacy the chancellor publicly opposed less than two years ago.

The Iraq result is dull, bleak, meager, whatever you wanna call it. The total ignorance towards Iran is simply shocking. BTW, I doubt the GOP would say 1 thing differently.

Prominent Republicans may be getting nervous about Romney’s chances

Rawstory

With recent polls showing Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney either trailing or at best tied with Rick Santorum in the Michigan primary, some Republican leaders are starting to get nervous.

One “prominent Republican senator” told ABC News senior political correspondent Jonathan Karl on Friday that “if Romney cannot win Michigan, we need a new candidate,” because with such a weak nominee “we’d get killed” in the general election.

He insisted that he expects Romney to eventually prevail in Michigan, but stated that “if he can’t even win in Michigan, where his family is from, where he grew up … he’d be too damaged” to run a successful presidential campaign.

Wulff's immunity was lifted at 15h47

according to German n-tv.de

Germany: What's next?

Well, Mr.Wulff declared his resignation today. He said he acted correctly in the sense of the law. It was a pretty dull statement. Didnt sound like he regards himself as Mr.righteous. So, Merkel then spoke of looking for a compromise for a new candidate. I think Frank Walter Steinmeier is the best choice. He is a social dem but pretty right leaning so the Christ Dems will like it I guess. I dont like Mr Gauck because he sounds like a tape recorder with batteries near zero.

Commentary on Wulff

spiegel picture from 1998
Well, Wulff's rise was not regal, unlike the rise of Whitney Houston for example.
He lost against Gerhard Schroder in the vote for the parliament of Lower Saxony in 1994
and he lost again in 1998. As a consequence, Schroder finished 16 years of conservative govt
in 1998 when he ran for German chancellor. Perhaps these 2 miscarriages in political
terms indefinitly characterized Mr.Wulff. Perhaps thus his victory in 2003
in his third run for pm of Lower Saxony made the victory a real triumph
and as of such Wulff pulled all strings to deny a possible social dem
recapture of the might in Lower Saxony. Perhaps thus he became a villain.
Well, his efforts were small, his efforts were big scale. Its about a leasing contract
for a portable phone, or its supporting the VW takeover by Porsche.
Lower Saxony was the home state of the social dem German chancellor Gerhard Schroder
still in 2003 and perhaps there were certain influences from his own party to obstruct this
reign on the home turf.
Well, when the first scandals became public and Mr Coaler
got fired as German president in 2010 when he demanded that German economical interests
have to be defended at the Hindukush as well, there was suddenly a job free.
Its more like a spiritual job in Germany to be president, its a quiet
and relaxed position you occupy, only facing a selected audience. So, in a whole,
its lightyears from the small world of small and big scandals in Lower Saxony.
Perhaps his party colleagues thought of something like an evacuation to Berlin
when they positioned Wulff as German president. Well, surprising or unsurprising,
the scandals got a hold of Mr.Wulff again, perhaps because there are elections looming
in Lower Saxony again, and, well, after 4 runs for pm of Lower Saxony, who wouldn't be haunted
by such a matter?
In total, Merkel did a gamble when she selected Wulff as the candidate for president
and its the worst nightmare thinkable of to have ruined the primary position in a state
like Germany.

German minister of defense deMaziere wants a Veterans day introduced while in US

German NTV had a commentary up pretty fast. Its not even bad.

Public memory for German soldiers, award of medals for risking the life abroad? Secretary of Defense Thomas de Maizière wants " Veterans day" introduced. The suggestion raises the question about our social adjustment. The answer to it should be clear.

Secretary of Defense Thomas de Maizière is in the US, he meets his counterpart in Washington, Leon Panetta. Ex-soldiers have a weighty voice there in the society - alone for their number. 2.3 million US veterans returned home from 2001 till 11 from the conflicts to Iraq and Afghanistan . De Maizière is now introducing: Germany should found an anniversary for soldiers with combat missions. But the minister should come clean to himself which function this will get, which changes can be released into society.

The German Federal Armed Forces execute at present the largest change of their history. Its becoming an army of mercenaries. It's extracted from the center of society , what was enforced before through compulsory military service-DRAFT. Rightfully only humans travel to wars like in Afghanistan, who really want to do this. Now the German Federal Armed Forces are dependent on applicants, it can no longer rely on DRAFTIES counting millions. It needs fresh blood, in the true sense of the word. Such blood is wasted in exactly such conflicts implying use of arms.

Berlusconi should be jailed for bribery: prosecutors

Italian ex-prime minister Silvio Berlusconi's legal woes returned to haunt him Wednesday as Milan prosecutors asked he be sentenced to five years in prison for bribing his former tax lawyer.

"It is certain, beyond any reasonable doubt, that the defendant is guilty," prosecutor Fabio De Pasquale told a court in a damning attack in which he accused Berlusconi's defence of being entirely "based on false documents."

Berlusconi is accused of paying British lawyer David Mills $600,000 (450,000 euros) to provide false testimony in several trials against the tycoon in the 1990s. He denies the charges and accuses prosecutors of plotting against him.

BERLIN (AP) — The German economy, Europe's largest, shrank less than expected in the last quarter of 2011 and was still able to post 3 percent growth on the year overall, the Federal Statistical Office reported Wednesday.

Gross domestic product dropped 0.2 percent in the fourth quarter, according to figures adjusted for price, seasonal and calendar variations. That was less than the 0.25 percent or more that had been expected based on preliminary numbers.

The fourth quarter GDP was also 2 percent higher than the same quarter the year before, and the Statistical Office revised its third quarter figure up to 0.6 percent, quarter on quarter, from 0.5 percent.

Chuck Norris wants everyone to know the facts about Rick Santorum.

In an article for World Net Daily on Sunday, the actor and martial arts legend explains why he chose to endorse Newt Gingrich for president last week and gives a detailed account of why he thinks the former Pennsylvania senator is the wrong candidate to represent the Republican party in November.

"How can the alternative to Romney also be a Romney supporter?" Norris asks, citing Santorum's support for Mitt Romney during the 2008 election:

Just three years ago in his interview with radio host and conservative commentator Laura Ingraham, Santorum also emphatically told millions of listening Americans: "If you're a conservative, if you're a Republican, there is only one place to go, and that's Mitt Romney."

INSIGHT INTO RIOTS

Athens, Greece (CNN) -- Anger over Greece's austerity measures exploded in the streets of Athens early Monday as tens of thousands of protesters clashed with police in riots that left 106 police officers and dozens of civilians injured, according to police.

The riot, widely described as one of the worst in Athens since Greece began dealing with its crippling debt crisis in 2010, broke out after the Greek Parliament approved a new package of austerity measures in return for a new eurozone bailout of the debt-stricken country.

Protesters among a crowd estimated by police at about 80,000 hurled rocks and firebombs toward police. Officers responded with tear gas. At least 74 people were arrested, police said.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Moody's cut the credit ratings of six European countries on Monday amid continued anxiety over the continent's debt crisis and its sluggish economy.

Italy, Malta, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain were all downgraded, while three other countries -- Austria, France and the United Kingdom -- had the outlook on their current Aaa ratings changed to "negative."
Ratings for Italy and Spain now sit at A2 and A1, respectively, while Portugal is rated Ba2, all with negative outlooks.

Moody's said in a statement that the main drivers of the ratings changes included "the euro area's prospects for institutional reform of its fiscal and economic framework" and "the resources that will be made available to deal with the crisis." The agency also cited fragile market confidence and Europe's "increasingly weak macroeconomic prospects."

Los Angeles (CNN) -- There were more questions than answers Monday about Whitney Houston's sudden death, with authorities offering few details even as the iconic singer's passing loomed large over music's biggest night.

Coroners completed the autopsy Sunday on Houston, who was found dead a day before in her suite in the upscale Beverly Hilton just hours before she was to attend a pre-Grammy Awards bash at the hotel.

Assistant Chief Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office told reporters "there will be no cause of death at this time because it is pending toxicology reports."

like I wrote before, I think the heavy turbines at the end of the wings cause the vibrations because they weigh too much. I didnt get anyway why they didnt put it like a tristar. If they cannot build it like the Concorde, engines close to the torus, they could put one bigger engine simply at the tail of the plane.
I mean the point is really that the result is that you got in the middle some gold bar and to the left and right a bit of plastics. They wanted two levels. But: the torus is heavier than one of a 747.

The wings are shaken easier because they carry more load.

Its not space. Wings do carry a plane. The load is on the wings id est air. If you use turbines and not rockets where one might be enough, you need to keep such things in mind.
Well, they obviously liked the position of the turbines for increased manoeuverability. But then, you could still have built some tristar and additionally two small steering engines at the outer positions.

If you look at the 747 see also that the wings are more crooked, id est when the wings connect to the torus the area they occupy is more huge.

German president: Lower Saxony refuses accusation of non-investigating Wulff

Lower Saxony intends to pay costs for marmelade event in Holland(DUTCH)

Bild.de: million euro loan for letter box firm

There were no offices, there were never any movies produced, the firm had no workers.

Movie producer David Groenewold is not only a close friend of German president Wulff, but he looked out for close business relations 2 Wulff 2.

The shiny movie-fiancer was so enthusiastic of Wulff that he even located his firm "Waterfall productions GmbH" in Hanover. "We picked the location Lower Saxony intentionally, because (here) prime Christian Wulff gives many important impulses in a strong personal effort for the intensified development of the media economy" Groenewold mused who is manager of the (mothercompany) Odeon AG which is located in Munich. It was a coordinated press release (with Wulff).

Wulff's state govt was obviously this convinced of Groenewold's Waterfall production that it provided a state loan about 4 mio euro. The Odeon AG which was deep in red in 2006, reported in may 2007 in an (immediate release) report with stock-exchange-relevance about the founding of Waterfall productions: "The financing of the productions is furthermore ensured through a loan-enacting in 2006 by the state of lower Saxony.(...)"

But: Its now becoming public that Waterfall productions existed only as letters on a sheet.

The former ceo (manager) Stephan Hansch to Bild.de:" Waterfall productions did not produce one single movie. THere were no workers and no furnitured offices. There never happened a thing at the address on the expo-area. " Clearer: It was a letter box firm.
Waterwall productions was written into the business (trade) register of the court of Hanover in aug 2007, Groenewold was 1 of 4 managers. The registered address was located on the expo-area. Waterfall productions was deleted in 2010 from the register.

Why was the frim founded (then) at all? Which use had the state loan?
Ex-manager Hansch: "Due to current investigations I dont like to make a statement."
Finance expert: "Principally, that such a (state) loan changes your credit worthiness (towards an AAA rating)."

But he pissed off the EU and the EU was just controlling whether German stock exchange could buy NYSE Euronext. If they had bought it, LSE would have been a small sized supper. But though Cameron tried so hard, they still decided against German Stock exchange. Mr Cameron is a very lucky fool.
