Schmitt is an enterpreneur from lower Saxony. Wulffs speaker Glasecker organized some event called north-south dialoque. There was some earlier story that the wife of Wulff was at some north-south event on the 14-oct 2009. Anyway, it seems like that Glasecker was paid by Wulff to organize such events in form of free trips.

President Christian Wulff stirs new annoyance: The public prosecutor's office Hanover had searched private and business properties of Wulff's former speaker Olaf Glaeseker and the event manager Manfred Schmidt . Both are accused of corruption and/or bribery , how the public prosecutor's office communicated. Glaeseker was already speaker Wulffs, when he was prime minister of lower Saxony and exercised this function later on also when Wulff was president of Germany. Wulff fired him on 22 December at the beginning of the credit and media affair (surprisingly). An official reason wasn't delivered.
