Sinking of Cruise Ship

I heard on Euro News that the ship was only 150 meters away from the coastline. The captain said the rock wasnt on the map, but its totally normal that it might be land anyway if you take flood and skip lets say 50 meters for high tide. It would be down to 100 meters and then the map might not be precise enough anymore depending on the scale. 1:10000, 1:100000, etc.

as far as I read it it wasnt even the mainnland coastline but the coastline of some island. Then again, its perfectly normal that islands are not mapped perfectly due to a lack of manpower.
