I was pretty fast to decry the recent utters of a German conservative who decried the S&P rating cuts as some left attack on German integrity. The situation is a bit more complex and you should dare to paint the entire picture. S&P was full of applause towards Germany for having austerity in big letters on the (financial) flag. Then again, the thing turns less complex when it comes to the financial shield / rescue fund EFSF. Because Germany is a donator, the required sum may rise if the need grows bigger and that is undoubtfully what just happened.
