Sarkozy's chances drop anew. At last he couldn't push through changing the EU contracts due to Cameron. Now, theres some guy out of the own camp that steals him some votes. If he makes it to the runoff 1vs1 it will be sure against Hollande.It will be unlike 2002.

France's Villepin to run for president

Paris (CNN) -- Former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said Sunday he will run for president next year, challenging longtime political rival and current President Nicolas Sarkozy.

"I have decided to run for the 2012 presidential election," Villepin told French television station TF1. "I want to gather all the French, left and right and those in the middle."

Both Sarkozy and Villepin served in the Cabinet of former French President Jacques Chirac.
