I watched Hu during the summit commemorating 10 years of WTO membership. He hadnt put on the 1000 smiles, but his facial expression was politely sorry. Some guy of Schneider Electronics was reviving the Amstrad CPC on the podium. Some lefties in the audience were more or less in a good mood because the entire show was total crapshit. Framing this unforgetable event, some Chinese were obviously trading snakes in Cologne.
Hu vows to pursue more balanced trade
Beijing (Financial Times) -- China's president, Hu Jintao, on Sunday pledged an "even more active" opening up of the country's economy and a renewed commitment to free trade as he sought to respond to concerns over apparent reform fatigue in Beijing and a deteriorating global economy.
Addressing an audience of business leaders and senior trade officials in a speech to mark the 10th anniversary of China's accession to the World Trade Organisation, Mr Hu pledged to pursue more balanced foreign trade relations and to create a fair and transparent business environment.
