I think the Falkland war is still something to be cherished. Not only that the 7th fleet was hardly 100 kms off when the war was declared, u could see all these great amphibious vehicles out of the Normandy landing from 44 again. You know, when I was small, I lived in Germany. Back then, it was only the left and the right. This war really made a diffrence. Suddenly, all the old stories were back in focus. Spaniards against Englishmen and so on. Good, that this war was a total sddisaster, is another funny side story. I finally laughed my ass off when Castro got to the the summit of the Latin Americans in Buenos Aires and he got poisened. Since then, Castro is really sympathetic to me
Argentina's dictator gets 25 years
Argentina's last dictator, Reynaldo Bignone, 82, was Tuesday sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of ordering torture and illegal detentions during his 1982-1983 rule.
Six other officials from that era were also given prison terms at the end of a trial during which relatives of those killed or disappeared brandished photos of their loved ones.
Bignone took power after Argentina's disastrous 1982 war against Britain over the Falkland Islands, and handed the reins over to his elected successor Raul Alfonsin at the end of 1983.
