Germany: conservatives in crisis

The pressure on the conservatives mounts: a crisis summit in the chancellors office is supposed to lead conservatives and lib dems on the lane to success. The lib dems still want to have tax cuts, minister of finance and chancellor block this idea. Projects are searched that cost nothing.


The heads of conbservatives and lib dems looked for ways out of their popularity crisis shadowed by criticism of the German president and new debts at record level.
One aims at making decisions about election phase for the vote in NRW. The majority of the conservatives is crumbling in the most populous German state. The conservative president Coaler was very concerned in an interview of "Focus" about the image problem of the conservatives after bein in office for only some months.
Merkel said on saturday in Munster: There should be no place in NRW for experiments with an unclear outcome (what means I guess she doesnt like to have a coalition with the ecos).
