Erdogan challenges Merkel
Turkish prime Erdogan spoke out again in favor of Turkish schools in Germany immediately ahead of the Turkey trip of chancellor Merkel.
He demanded additionally full EU membership of his country. The conservative-lib dem coalition reacted in refusal.
German chancellor Merkel and Turkish prime Erdogan will meet in Ankara on monday. Erdogan demanded in ZEIT a full membership of his country in the EU and repeated at the same time his earlier demand for introduction of Turkish high schools in Germany. Last was declined by conservative politicians forcefully in uproar.
Erdogan: We are already in talks for full membership. Theres no alternative for us. Merkel advertised instead a priviliged partnership on sunday for Turkey in the EU. This would ensure a tightening ofn relations but not a full membership.

Christ Social sec Dobrindt told Spiegel concerning the demand for Turkish high schools: Erdogan intends to have a tool for his political aims. "Such demands ahead of the visit of our chancellor Merkel are an agression."
