Afghan mission in doubt as air raid lies force German minister to resign

The future of Germany's mission in Afghanistan was thrown into doubt today after a government minister resigned under growing pressure to admit his involvement in a campaign of misinformation over an air raid in which civilians were killed.Franz Josef Jung, defence minister at the time, quit as labour minister a day after the army's chief of staff, Wolfgang Schneiderhan, resigned over the incident with the deputy defence minister, Peter Wichert.Jung said his decision followed "detailed consideration" and that he accepted "political responsibility for the internal information policy" in his ministry.

Germanys highest ranking "checker in uniform" is being fired. An US air strike called in by Germany killed 142 people. Several misinformations led Germany to determine the number of corpses at 20. This was virtually false and reminded of the nazi era. Checkers have to provide an independent sight of what happened cause their independent state is guaranteed.

Call girl: I got phone threats after spending night with Italian PM

ROME — A call girl who claims she spent the night with Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has said she faced threats after the alleged encounter with the embattled premier, in a book published Wednesday.

In the memoirs of Patrizia D'Addario, "Gradisca Presidente" (Take Your Pleasure, President), she also makes more allegations about the "fateful" night of November 4, 2008, at Berlusconi's Rome residence.

D'Addario, 42, said she received threatening phone calls after spending the night with Berlusconi, and her mother was also threatened.

"At the start there were phone calls and threats... then they went for my mother," she wrote.

She also claimed she first made the allegations in the Corriere della Sera newspaper in June because "I feared for my life."

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Friday that the Obama administration was pushing for immigration reform that would create a pathway for the legalization of undocumented immigrants.

Ramsauer heavily criticized for Reconstruction West on 20 years German reunifaction

Well, Merkel didn't put up one minister locally bound to the former GDR. A case of total misrepresentation. In fact, she lacked votes out of her own party when elected chancellor back two weeks. If she didn't have the present from Mr Muentefering called Ueberhangmandate or overflow seats, she wouldn't be German chancellor. Now, Mr Ramsauer suddenly called for "Reconstruction West." Nice move. There'll be elections in Germany's most populous state NRW soon and the coal industry doesn't exist anymore in its old form. Though, as I remember, it was more about some fukking conservative Thatcheritist who liked to close the digs. Though it's some form of reconciliation. You shouldn't forget that Bavaria was a rural Agrar-state for centuries with a begotten king. Nice Mr Ramsauer is now turning pluralistic, after reconstruction east now recontruction west. The stupid thing is that we currently celebrate 20 years takedown of Berlin wall and I'm absolutely sure the Russians had saved the coal industry in NRW also. So, the point isn't clear to me with or without German reunification. Ah, right, the elections in NRW.

See ah, if it's cold outside you better close the door. But then again, if u smoke inside, the smoke is hard to breath. Then again, you can't go outside anymore because the door is closed. The political world is really fukked up. No love for Ramsauer.

Good, to put it another way: Its clear that a state will take over a bank like HRE that got 300 bio € in debt. But what else does the state get? U cant take over a fucking McDonalds anymore witht he contract of Lisboa without a special permission by the EU. U dont get a Krakauer sausage anymore. So, isnt there a systematic failure? So Mr Ramsauer has the money to reconstruct the west? Yeah, where from? The East? Hallucinating crap-show.

So who globalized and globalized and globalized? who merged and merged and merged? who concentrated? Who demanded as a consequence low wages to stand competition. Yeah, in fact u got China and India today with 2.3bio people in competition. Yah its the fuck competitive and u told them to do so and they arent sorry they did so but we are. U know what I would call this. Freaking stupid.
msn
Yah, today u get mega-conglomerates that suddenly go bankrupt. Or u got Arcelor-Mittal and suddenly Thyssen - Krupp goes bankrupt. But, hey, btw, fukk u. Move ur reconstruction west up ur nazi ass and take care people will work tomorrow. With or without competition. Hey, in fact, I want to feed myself. I wasnt born to live in a old men's asylum.

HASAN

FORT HOOD, Texas (Nov. 9) – A key U.S. senator said Sunday he would begin an investigation into whether the Army missed signs that the man accused of opening fire at Fort Hood had embraced an increasingly extremist view of Islamic ideology.
Sen. Joe Lieberman's call for the investigation came as word surfaced that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan apparently attended the same Virginia mosque as two Sept. 11 hijackers in 2001, at a time when a radical imam preached there. Whether Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, associated with the hijackers is something the FBI will probably look into, according to a law enforcement official who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is ongoing.

Germans Angry Over G.M. Decision to Keep Opel

I m not this surprised about GMs decision. Noone will sell healthy plants. Modern infrastructure loss is always a loss. I think one shouldnt overemphazize GMs reversal

General Motors provoked an uproar Wednesday in Germany after the company decided to keep its European business, Opel, rather than sell a majority stake to a consortium that had promised to try to safeguard jobs and factories.

The sudden decision, after months of high-level negotiations, reflected a new level of confidence at G.M. after its rebirth through a U.S. bankruptcy court. Opel is a strategic asset that G.M. had been prepared to jettison as it fought for its own survival.

The European operations, with their expertise in small-car technology, are crucial to the future of the parent company not only in the United States but also in the growing markets of Asia and South America, analysts said.

Germany lacks 3 billion € in tax income

After Westerwelle's recent hillarious announcement to cut taxes wherever he likes to it's obvious that his tax cut promises are illusive and obnoxious 'cause it's totally clear that under this scenario, the state has to cut welfare or other expenses to "pay" the tax cuts. Regardless whether it's Corzine in New Jersey or elsewhere: Lefties get beaten the heck out cause they obviously dont like to live in anarchy. It's great gay Westerwelle likes cops, put they need to earn a wage. If Steinmeier hadn't said ahead of the election that he likes to collaborate with the lib dems, the gate would have been way shut for the lib dems on Germany's left wing. Steinmeier and Muentefering caused nothing but total hazard with their right-streaming what is totally ANTI-SOCIAL and they terminated their own electorate with their intention to collaborate. • Tonia Carmichael identified as one of 11 found slain at Cleveland home
  • Judge denies bond for Anthony Sowell who faces aggravated murder charges
  • Residents complained of "foul smell" in neighborhood for years

Cleveland, Ohio (CNN) -- Authorities have identified one of 11 bodies found at a Cleveland, Ohio, home as a 52-year-old woman who had been missing for about a year.

Tonia Carmichael's remains were found at the home of Anthony Sowell, but the news was no surprise to Carmichael's family members.

"This is what I've been saying since Monday, when, you know, we were called to the coroner's office and since this story broke," said Danita Carmichael, the victim's daughter.

Tonia Carmichael was last seen on November 10, 2008, police said in a statement Wednesday. She disappeared from Warrensville Heights, a Cleveland suburb near Sowell's home, and her vehicle was found in Cleveland.
