The head of the damaged German state bank West LB Heinz Hilgert is quitting. Reason for him stepping back is a "lack of support of the main owners " of the West LB for the consolidation of the bank Hilgert told in Duesseldorf in a personal note. For this background "he couldnt provide a responsible leadership of the institute anymore." Hes quitting his job immediately and is not taking any further wages or retirement pay.
