The mounting public anger over news that AIG executives will be receiving millions in bonuses seems to know no end as conservative pundits seek to stoke the populace rage. One Republican senator has even called for the executives to commit ritual suicide.
On Fox News Monday night Charles Krauthammer said the executives should be executed in the French Revolution style- by guillotine.
"I’m all in favor of keeping this heaping opprobrium," Krauthammer said. "I would deny them the bonuses if possible. I would be for an exemplary hanging or two. Have it in Times Square, invite Madame DuFarge. You borrow a guillotine from the French and we could have a party. If that’s what it takes to maintain popular support, let’s do it.
Mort Kondracke suggested torture by boiling the executives in oil - a practice that was deployed by Britain's King Henry VIII to deal with Catholic agitators.
