The second largest Italian government party national alliance dissolved itself. At the end of the very last party summit the AN-chief and president of the deputy chamber, Gianfranco Fini, branded the disolution of the party Italian media reported.


The postfascistic party will then merge also formally with Forza Italia (FN) of Italian prime Silvio Berlusconi to form "people with freedoms" (PDL). AN built a coalition with FI carrying the same name (PDL) for the elections for parliament in april of 08.
