Small battle at the start of Ghaddafi's trip

http://n-tv.de/890522.html
The Libyan leader of the revolution Muhammar al-Ghaddafi arrived for a five day visit in Paris. The visit during which deals with a transaction value of 3 billion dollars are to be signed led to an open conflict within the government. Foreign minister Kouchner and state secretary for human rights Rama Yade criticized the invitation of the leader of the (Islamic) revolution who was criticized for a while for supporting terror groups and who has been condemned thus. Afterwards, Yade was called to Elysee to explain her standpoint. Ghaddafi left the airport in a white limousine and was immediately afterwards welcomed in the Elysee.

Yade confronted Ghaddafi during his first visit in France since 34years with the human rights situation in his country. She called her own government not only to sign business deals with the country but also to demand the agreement to and enforcement of human rights.
"Ghaddafi has to understand, that our country is no carpet for him to clean his shoes where a leader of the revolution, whether supporting terrorism or not, can strive of the blood of his subjects." She said so in an interview with "Le Paisien." http://www.leparisien.fr/
"France shouldnt accept this kiss of death."

The secretary of state for human rights stressed, that she's principally open to a dialogue with Libya. " I dont share this automatic condemnation of those who exclude any dialogue with Libya." The start of the five-day trip exactly on the human rights day was a wrong signal though. "in his country, people disappeared, and whose fates are unkown.

Press is not free.

Prisoners are bein tortured. The death penalty was abolished for Libyans but stayed in effect for people out of areas southwards of the Sahara.
