Sarkozys discharged value (-merit)diplomacy

The French president of state Sarkozy showed deliberate dilletantism in dealing with Libyian leader of revolution Ghaddafi, which is surprising. It is -of cuz- granted to regard himself as the main trade dealer of France and to make deals with the desert-dictator. Cheque-book diplomacy was offered before by Blair and Schröder and Prodi. Disturbing is thus how much ground was admitted by Sarkozy to Gadaffi to wish off (disturb) the border between democrats and despots. Sarkozy honored Gaddafi like facing a democratic statesman, not a former godfather of terrorism. The protocol didn't demand the French president of state to fulfill any of the visitors moody wishes. Though Sarkozy aquitted, admitted, whenever he shall had defended values and habbits of the Republic. This started out at the pretty funny incident when Sarkozy admitted to a Beduine tent next to the Elysée-palace. Sarkozy admitted to be inferior when Gaddafi stripped him in French state television. The Libyian head of state maintained that Sarkozy didn't speak with him about human rights. Right b4, the French president maintained the opposite.
Sarkozy appeared to be lame facing the "incalculableness (yeah and Ronald Reagan bombed Libya)" of the "leader of the revolution" and wasted much too much nrg to defend his visitor instead of showin' borders. Only late, the French president tried to limit damage by presenting families of the bomb attack against the UTA flight in the Elysée.
Sarkozy's credibility as a president of the human rights is totally disrupted. In 1 week, the president minimized his confidence in his "foreign policy doctrine" for which he advertised monthlong.

Never again France should take compromises with dictators -he said so- "and may they be friends of France." The break with the diplomacy of his predecessors should have ,by liftin the evaluation of human rights, been prima causa for all foreign decisions afterwards. Deceisseivly, Sarkozy turned against cultural relativism, according to which certain peoples are infidel to democracy. Furthermore he didn't delay as candidate to describe the development in Russia as disturbing and to demand from China answerin questions about the freedom of of opinion and gathering. The networks in France's former African colonies Sarkozy called relicts of another time that have to be abolished.
Since inauguration, Sarkozy spent more time to occupy the stage for multimedia events than to realize his "value"-diplomacy.
His image of a foreign politician Sarkozy stamped with the "liberation" of the Bulgarian nurses from Libyian torture-imprisonment or the flight back home for French journalists (paparazzi) or French stewardesses in the presidents jet from Chad. If all goes planned, point xmas french journalist Ingrid Betancourt shall be freed from jungle. Such activism shall deroute from the president having held his value diplomacy victim to deal-pragmatism that avoids discrepancies about his democratic fundamentals. Nothin stopped Sarkozy to slime in at Putin after his election (he hasn't been elected actually , hes just the candidate for PM for his party). Nothing hindered him to show solidarity in Peking with the position of German chancellor Merkel and American Bush in the question of Tibet. Well, he didn't so. He didn't oppose pro-Iranian remarks from Chavez. Like his predecessor, Sarkozy visited African potentate Bongo in Gabun. He ducked in front of antisemitic remarks of his Algerian minister. The Algerian president just showed part-time mercy. The democratic measurement is for Sarkozy this low that heads of state like Bouteflika jump'em easily. With the Mediterranian union Sarkozy doesnt conjoin the aim to transport lawfulness and democracy into Maghreb. It shall serve trade. The root cause for Sarkozy's conversion to traditional foreign policy isn't based on the arrogance the V (fifth) republic. It mainly roots in the lack of competitivness of the fifth republic facing raw-material-rich countries. Sarkozy believes in the dirigitative belief that countries cannot endure without raw materials. He's more anchored in French tradition than it appeared to be during the election.
