Sarkozy threatened immediate departure
At the G8 summit Bush was obviously some little freeper. He simply turned the climate protocol with China into some equal concurrence manifest, obviously because the Chinese can do whatever they want regarding the environment and have cheaper products thus. The CHinese got to know about Bushs remarks and are now blocking US food (americablog).
The compromise on climate was only found after some high-wave debate the German SPIEGEL reports. Sarkozy threatened to Bush his immediate preliminary departure according to HANNOVERSCHE ALLGEMEINE ZEITUNG according to a secret protocol.
It cites the records of some so called sherpa - a high-positioned (graded) worker for the government - who followed the debate and took notes.
"THE PROBLEM CHINA"
According to it Bush spoke first and said:
"Our biggest political problem is China."
All industrial nations have to ask themselves how they can cope (keep up concurrence towards) China in long terms. ´Protectionism would be no exit.´
´Thus its clear to see how important a climate agreement with China is.´
